A Soulful R&B Star

From Washington DC with Love
Singer/songwriter Rebel Rae was born in the DMV (DC, Maryland, and Virginia), represents a culturally diverse backdrop which sets the tone for her music. At nine years old, her grandfather, a renowned Jazz Pianist in St. Louis, would become her driving force in pursuing music, insisting that her voice was her instrument. With fellow D.C. artist Ari Lennox, Rebel Rae joined the European leg of Lennox’s “Shea Butter Baby” tour, where Rae performed to sold-out crowds in the U.K., France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Belgium, Denmark and Sweden. She performed live in collaboration with Coke Studios and #BeApp alongside performers like Katy Perry, DJ Khaled, Bebe Rexha, and Miguel, helping to support the International Red Cross and the Red Crescent Movement. She also joined Roc Nation’s Harry Hudson and nine-time Grammy Winner Sheryl Crow, in Pelotonia’s Legends Live! event, raising millions of dollars to benefit cancer research. Rebel Rae opened for Bilal at the Sony Music Hall, in New York, June 13, 2022, and completed a 4-day mini tour in her hometown of DC. Rebel Rae released her debut album, The View From Down Here, in 2020, her EP, Permission, in 2022, and singles, Muse, Used To Know, and Take All My Tears this year in 2023.

In 2022 Rebel Rae dropped a series of singles including “Muse,” “Used To Know,” and “Take All My Tears,” further refining a sound rooted in soul but open to pop, jazz, and alternative influences. Across these projects, she emphasizes lyricism, often writing songs a cappella as poetry before taking them to producers, which gives her work a strong narrative and emotional center. Offstage, Rebel Rae has aligned her artistry with purpose-driven collaborations and philanthropic performances. She has appeared in global livestream initiatives alongside artists like Katy Perry, DJ Khaled, Bebe Rexha, and Miguel to support organizations such as the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, and she has participated in events like Pelotonia’s Legends Live! with Harry Hudson and Sheryl Crow to raise funds for cancer research. She has also opened for acclaimed artists including Bilal at New York’s Sony Hall and continues to perform in her hometown of D.C., maintaining a close connection to the community that shaped her. Looking ahead, Rebel Rae continues to expand her discography and artistic vision. In addition to her existing body of work, she has an EP titled “We Made Soul” slated for release in January 2026, followed by a full-length album called “The Rebirth” scheduled for April 2026, signaling a new creative chapter that builds on her roots in soul, storytelling, and social consciousness. This forthcoming period promises to deepen her exploration of identity, resilience, and transformation while introducing her music to an even wider audience.
